A Worship Music Playlist for Bible Journaling

Hi Friends! I hope your week has been a good one. If it hasn’t been, I have good news! It’s the weekend and you get to start fresh next week! Plus, today is about to get better for you because I have an awesome Bible Journaling Playlist to share with you!

If you’re like me, worship music plays a big role in your spiritual journey. No, I’m not a musician. I was in choir one semester in college because it was the cool thing to do, but I can’t even read music. I had to just listen to my neighbor and hope I was singing it all right. That was a short lived season though. In spite of my lack of musical talent, I truly appreciate those who have that gift and share it with the Church Body.

Some of the most powerful interactions I’ve had with God were in times of worshiping God through music. I’m not sure, but I think it is so powerful because of the intertwining of music which evokes so much emotion, and the act of lowering ourselves and raising God up. Music, for me, has often been the inspiration or the final push to take action in my spiritual life. It’s at times, been healing for me, and other times has convicted me. The power of music is just really so amazing to me.

Music is also a great place to start if you’re feeling stuck with Bible Journaling. I draw inspiration from music regularly. Since many worship songs are taken directly from scripture or at the very least contain biblical themes, they can easily be related to passages in scripture. The pictures from today’s post are inspired by Kari Jobe’s song “The Cause of Christ” which relates really well to several scripture passages. The whole purpose of worship music is to worship (I know, very profound.) But, worship is also the purpose of Bible Journaling. So why not combine the two forms of worship together, right?

Even if I’m not drawing inspiration from a specific song when I am Bible Journaling, I still love to play music while I create. I think it’s a helpful way to center my mind on what I am doing and intentionally praise God as I create. I find myself singing along as I create, and I’m sure it’s a least a joyful noise, if not a beautiful one.

We’re lucky to have the access to music the way we do today. There are an abundance of amazing artists out there who create outstanding worship music! I’ve created an entire “Bible Journaling Jams” playlist on our Faith Heirlooms Spotify account. Be sure to check it out if you want the full details, but I got a little excited and it was hard not to add all the music, so I’ll list just a few songs that have really been my top favorites as of late:

Kari Jobe – The Garden  (I mean the whole album but that song in particular)

Lauren Daigle – Dry Bones

Hillsong – Oceans (it just doesn’t get old for me)

Audrey Assad – I Shall Not Want

Darlene Zschech – Victor’s Crown

Leeland- Lion and the Lamb

Page CXVI – ALL OF THEM (I literally cannot pick. Sorry, not sorry.)

Lauren Lee – See

Kim Walker-Smith – Throne Room

Go check out our Spotify playlist for more song and artist recommendations. Comment below any music recommendations you have. I am always up for new great new music suggestions.
