Bible Journaling On The Go: A {Not So} Minimalist Guide

Happy Friday everyone! I hope your weekend is off to a great start! As for me, I’m headed up to McCall, Idaho this weekend for my church’s annual Women’s Retreat. Since there will be some free time over the course of the weekend, I figured I should bring along some Bible Journaling supplies.

So today, I am excited to share with you my {not so} minimalist packing guide for Bible Journaling on the go. Listen, I would love to be one of those people who can pack a travel bag with the bare necessities. I absolutely admire them. But that’s just not me. I have tried and I just can’t. I need want options. To be fair, I feel like I’ve gotten better over the years, but my husband would probably disagree with that statement.

So if you are here hoping I will tell you the three supplies that will carry you though a weekend getaway, sorry to disappoint. It’s going to be more like, how to fit a lot into one average tote.

So without further ado, here are the supplies I’m bringing for some Bible Journaling on the go:

One-

First things first: the obvious. My Bible and a bag. This bag, I actually just snagged from the dollar (three dollar) section at Target. And let me just say, those pom poms are begging to be removed and put in my Bible as a page marker.

Two-

I’ll also be bringing up my binder that holds all my Faith Heirlooms devotionals and some paper for taking notes during the retreat sessions.

Three-

Next on the list is pens. I’m using a re-purposed makeup bag to hold my pens. I’ve stuck with my Micron pens, Sharpie Pens, Sharpie Paint Pen, White Gelly Roll Pens, and a pencil with eraser (I warned you this wasn’t a minimalist approach). I’ve also stuck my glue pen in there for good measure.

Four-

Stickers are another easy thing to bring along. I’ve packed alphabet stickers and our Faith Heirlooms printable stickers (hence, why I wanted my glue pen) into a folder for safekeeping. The smaller bits that I’ve already cut, I put into a clear pouch so I could see them easily to find what I needed.

Five-

If I’m going to be working on any pages, I’m going to want to make sure I have some way of getting a colorful page. Watercolor paints and water brushes are perfect for on the go! No mess and easy packing.

Six, Seven, Eight, Nine, Ten…

Of course, I got to thinking…What if I want to use acrylic paint, tassels, double sided tape, paper clips, and washi tape? So This other bag I found in the dollar bins at target made the perfect pouch to store some of those other odds and ends I felt I might need.

And believe it or not, it all fits nicely in that tote! I think I did pretty good for a non-minimalist.
