Color Inspiration for Bible Journaling

Hi Friends! Happy SUMMER! That’s right, today is my last day of school which means summer break! I’m excited for a time to rest from a long year and have more time to Bible Journal and maybe organize that crazy craft room. Who knows where the wind will blow me! Today the wind is blowing me in the direction of color! I want to share some color inspiration for your next Bible journaling entry.

Color is a key component of art, even the absence of color is a distinct artistic choice. Color can change the tone and meaning of art drastically. Color helps tell the visual story we artists choose to tell. I’ve gone into detail on this in my blog on the Psychology of Color. For today though, I want to offer some simple color inspiration.

I’m one of those people who changes their favorite color every other day. I love colors and finding new combinations that work together. I tend to want the largest size crayon box and marker packs because I want ALL the colors. I rarely use paint right out of the tube, but prefer to mix my own concoctions to get the the right shade (hue, tone…whatever that is) But sometimes it can be hard to come up with new/fresh color combinations, or I get in a rut of choosing the same color combos over and over again. So I’ve created some color combinations to inspire you(and myself) to get out of your usual color comfort zone.

Here’s a few of those color combinations in action in Bible Journaling to inspire you some more.
