Praise God For Rest!

Happy weekend friends!

Bringing you a shorter post this week, because as I write this I am in the midst of the last minute preparations for our women’s retreat this weekend! And as you’re reading this, myself and a handful of other women are probably scrambling around trying to get everything set up before people arrive this evening.

I absolutely love planning this retreat every year. It’s amazing to be a part of what turns out to be such a relaxing weekend for so many women. (Over 80 this year!)

While I may not get to experience it the same way all the guests do, I am still going to try and find rest. After endless projects for the last two weeks, I am going to rest in the fact that all the things are done and now I just have to follow the schedule.

In today’s culture we’re busy, busy, busy. And most of us don’t get too much respite from that. Myself included. This will be the first time that I’m away from my (almost two year old!) daughter overnight. I need that.

Don’t we all need that? Time away from our kids, our responsibilities, our daily lives?

No rest makes us weary.

Jesus says in Matthew, come to me all who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest. I am praising God for the rest that I will find this weekend.

I’m guessing that you’re probably not going on a retreat this weekend. But I would encourage you to find even an hour to rest. Meet with Jesus and praise Him for the rest he provides.

I’m so excited about this weekend away that I’m giving you guys this freebie tip-in to use in your bible.

rest

All the praise hands! Because that’s what I’m exclaiming this weekend!

Enjoy!
