Waiting on The Lord

Happy Friday Friends! I hope you’ve all had a great week! I’m dealing with a pretty nasty cold at the moment and can’t say I’m doing great. There’s something about being sick that really reminds you of your human frailty and inability. Sometimes I think God uses it to remind you that He’s in control and will handle all the things you’re worried about. He challenges you to just rest and let Him take the lead. You’re pretty much forced into waiting on the Lord.

That’s what I’ve been thinking about lately. We’ve talked about praying impossible prayers and being persistent in those. It’s so much easier to talk about than to actually do though, right?

My focus is shifting, only just slightly into waiting on the Lord’s timing. While I continue to pray those impossible prayers, I’m also being challenged to practice waiting for God to answer those impossible prayers. Not an easy thing. I’m constantly tempted to take things into my own hands and figure out a way to get what I want right away… as if I even could. Ha!

Micah 7:7

I was drawn to this passage in Micah 7 as I was creating the other day. It talks about how the world is basically full of sin and craziness, but that he would wait in hope for God. This stood out to me because in spite of the evil around him, Micah was still proclaiming God’s ability to overcome it all.

God is an overcomer. I love that. And the overcomer hears us! But we have to remember that His timing is perfect. He has the full plan and know how it should go. While I want God to overcome now, He knows better.

God is not ignoring me, He hears me, and He is waiting for the right time. I need to remember that and continue to wait on His perfect timing. As I wait I’ll continue praying my impossible prayers and trusting that God is able and He’s listening.
