Teaching Youth Bible Journaling + A Free Printable

Hi Friends! I hope you are getting a taste of spring wherever you are. It’s starting to warm up here in the Treasure Valley and I’m loving it. Not to mention the countdown to summer break has started and we’re down to 4 weeks left of school. But today I want to tell you about last weekend and offer you a free printable too!

Girls Retreat

Last weekend Jeanna and I had an opportunity to be part of leading a Youth Girls Retreat at my church. Girls from 6th grade to 9th grade came and we learned about who God says we are, we played games, ate yummy food, and of course, Jeanna and I couldn’t be involved without doing a little Bible Journaling.

It was so fun to show them about our passion for God’s word and for creativity. We got to tell them about why God’s word was important to read and meditate on and how to be respectful of His truth while Bible Journaling. Then we got to let out the creative juices.

They absolutely enjoyed themselves as they got their footing using all sorts of different supplies. It was so cool to see how they each had their own style of creating. Some were timid to get started and others slapped that paint right on. Some preferred to use stickers and paper products, while some used acrylic or watercolors.

Dinner on the Lawn

Of course, I was having too much fun to remember to take any pictures, but there were some other parts of the weekend we enjoyed (and photographed) as well. One was a “fancy” dinner party on the lawn. We set the table beautifully, had a photobooth, and got all dressed up to have a dinner on the lawn. The wind really tried to get us down (apparently paper/plastic can’t handle it),  but we had fun anyway!

For the table we made place cards with all their names, and I couldn’t let the awesome templates go to waste…in fact I couldn’t help creating a few more options as well. They just seemed like perfect printables for Bible Journaling.

Truth be told, I made these for myself. I really wanted something like this to use in my Bible, but that’s the fun of what we do with Faith Heirlooms, we get to share our ideas with you! So we have a free printable for you all.

Free printable - gird and gingham tags
