Bible Journaling Transformations

Hello There friends! Leah here! I know is been a bit since we’ve caught up. Life has been busy for both Jeanna and I the last month. Jeanna welcomed baby Opal into the world on July 7th, in case you missed our instagram post announcing that. She is the sweetest little princess. I on the other hand have been out of town at church camp, then vacation, and now I’m trying to get back into the routine of things.

#transformationtuesday

Today I wanted to share with you about an idea that has been forming in my head for a little while that I’m ready to share with all our Bible Journaling friends! Starting this week on our instagram page we are going to start sharing our Bible Journaling “transformations” every Tuesday.

It’s hard to know where to start with explaining the thought process behind it. The idea was inspired by two main things 1) Seeing people share lots of #transformationtuesday or #glowup photos of themselves, how they have changed, grown, beautified over the years. 2) The themes of transformation in the Bible that God has really been speaking to me over the last few months.

Spiritual Transformation

We share our Bible journaling pages daily on our instagram page. At this point I’m working in my 3rd bible and about ready to start a new one. Jeanna is working in her 3rd as well. It’s only natural that sometimes we journal on the same passage in our newer Bibles. From time to time I got back and look through my old bibles and reflect on what God was teaching me at that time and what I was going through. It can be helpful to go back and remind myself of those lessons. It’s also neat to compare what I was learning then, to what I am learning now.

As I said before, God has been talking to me a lot about transformation lately (ever since I created the Be Transformed kit for the shop back in March). There is so much scripture that talks about how as believers we are not to stay the same, but we are to continually be transformed to be more and more like Christ. This transformation can be challenging at times, but is so necessary to growth.

One of the greatest things about Bible Journaling, to me, is that it has become a tangible way to see the transformation in my life. I can see my growth in artistic ability and style, but more importantly the spiritual transformation from spending time with Jesus.

#FH_TransformationTuesday

After thinking on it for a bit, I thought it would be a good idea to take #transformationtuesday and turn it into a way to share our artistic and spiritual transformations from Bible journaling. So starting this Tuesday, Jeanna and I will be sharing our Bible journaling transformations and we would love for you to join us.

We will be photographing and sharing pages done on the same chapter of scripture in different bibles (for example all of the pages in the above picture are from Deuteronomy 11). Sometimes there will be two others there will be three. It will just depend on if we have done the same chapter in two or three bibles. Eventually there might be four – it will all just depend on what pages we do and if there are any in older Bibles we’ve also done.

Join Us

In the description we will use hashtag #FH_transfromationtuesday.We may also include a description of the transformation we’ve seen spiritually if we feel led. We encourage you to do the same, as well as tag us @faithheirlooms so we can see what you share.

Overall, the goal for this is to reflect on the ways God helps us grow and to encourage one another in continued transformation in Christ. Plus, it will be fun to see how each of us has grown artistically and adapted our styles and skills. We hope you will join us in sharing your transformations and look forward to seeing how God has worked in your lives!

Blessings on your transformation journey,

Leah & Jeanna
